Information Privacy

Our Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to Rao Law Group and its personnel ("RLG," "we," "us," or "our").  This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains our online information practices and choices you can make about how your information is used at our website, www.raolawgroup.com and its subdomains (the "Website").

This Policy also explains our information practices concerning online and social media pages that we maintain, including through Facebook and Twitter  (the "Social Media Pages").

RLG cannot control the privacy and information policies of the Social Media Pages it maintains, even if it links to this Policy on one or more of those Social Media Pages.  You should consult the privacy policies and notices of these other websites or parties to understand their information practices.

In this Policy, we refer to the Social Media Pages together with the Website as the "RLG Sites."

What INformation We Collect

A. Information You Provide

In general, we do not collect personally identifiable information about you (e.g. your name, address, telephone number, fax number or e-mail address).  If you fill out a "Contact Us" form, otherwise contact us, or provide us with information, then we may collect information you provide, including personally identifiable information.

B. Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit the RLG Sites – such as the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, the domain name of your Internet service provider, or device information about the device you are using to visit the RLG Sites.

C.  Information Collected from Cookies

We may choose to use cookies and similar tracking technologies on this Website. A cookie is a text-only string of information that a website transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer's hard disk so that the website can track information about you to remember who you are. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the "lifetime" of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. We may use cookies to help us provide you a good experience when you browse our Website. We may also use cookies to improve our Website and services.

You may have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser. However, some features of our Website may not work if cookies are disabled.

D. Information Collected by Third Parties

To maintain its security, the building in which we office requires guests to check in at the lobby, during which process they take a photograph of the guest. This photograph is transmitted to our offices via email or other messaging. We do not use these photos for any purpose internal to RLG, and we delete such photographs in periodic file reviews. We may also collect information from you through third party cloud services, such as Microsoft, LawPay or other SaaS services. We periodically review these services for compliance with data protection rules and laws, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We only contract with services if we are satisfied that they meet requisite security standards to comply with these data protection requirements.

How We Use Collected Information

We may use non-personally identifiable information to analyze usage of RLG Sites (such as information about which pages visitors view), which helps us improve the design and content of the RLG Sites.  Ordinarily, we would use personally identifiable information you provide only to respond to your inquiry or otherwise process any form you have completed or information you have provided through the RLG Sites.  If you are, or become, a client, we may use personally identifiable information to provide agreed upon legal services.

When we share or transfer collected information

A.  Restrictions on Sharing or Transferring Information

We do not share, rent, or sell your personally identifiable information outside RLG without your consent. If you are interested in applying for a job at RLG and choose to submit resume information to us, we may use such resume information for internal application review. We will not voluntarily share, rent or sell resume information outside RLG without your consent.

B.  Shared or Transferred Information

Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may share information within RLG, and with others who provide services on our behalf.  If you reside outside the United States (e.g. in the European Union) you understand and acknowledge that we are based in the United States. You further agree that any information you provide to us, or that we collect from you through your use of the RLG Sites or services may be transferred to the United States.  You expressly agree to such transfer.

C.  Required Disclosure of Information

It is possible that we might be forced to disclose information in response to legal process or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, for example, in response to a court order, subpoena, or a law enforcement agency's request. Where practicable and reasonable, we will provide information regarding such required disclosures to you.

A.  Links to Other Sites or Parties

We may include links on the RLG Sites that link you to other websites or parties whose information practices may be different than ours. You should consult the privacy policies and notices of these other websites or parties to understand their information practices. We have no control over information that is submitted to or collected by third parties.

B. Event Registration Information

We may post information about programs and events that are sponsored by or co-sponsored by other organizations. Should you choose to register electronically for any of these events, we will have no control over how third-party sponsors use this information.
